Build Day

Come one, come all for an opportunity to improve this community for generations to come.  Are you good with tools?  We need you!  Perhaps caring for children is your passion.  We need you!  Do you have a food/catering business or are used to feeding lots of people?  We need you!  Are you a well organized person who won't take "no" for an answer?  We need you!    Do you belong to a service group that is desperately looking for a project?  We need you!  Is your business able to donate cash, materials, tools or "sponsor" a park element?  We need you!  Would you like to see a child-designed, one-of-a-kind, community built playground at City Park?  We need you!

On May 16, 2007 this community will embark on building a playground at our oldest park - City Park at 10th and "A" streets.  The build will take place over 5 days and everyone, regardless of skill or experience, is invited to participate.  The new playground was designed by over 200 Antioch school children during Design Day in October 2006.  This new playground is only one part of the renovations taking place in City park.  Other amenities include a soccer field, bathrooms and new parking lot.

Don't let this opportunity pass.  Get involved and in the end you'll be able to look with pride at a unique play structure and a monument to community spirit.  For years to come you will point, smile and say "I helped make this happen!"
